In all of Xizang (Tibet) and throughout Asia, the journey to holy Mount Kailash (6714m) is one of the most famous. In addition, the mountain is sacred to Buddhists, who consider the mountain habitat the incarnation of the Buddha Samvara. For Hindus, Mount Kailash is believed to be one of the residences of Lord Shiva, and followers of the Bon in the Himalayas consider it the holiest place where their practice flourishes.

Along with the mythological and religious significance, Kailash also has pure natural beauty. It stands in stark loneliness in all its glory. Its rounded peak is symmetrical and has distinct horizontal and vertical grooves, which have caused another name, Kailash – Swastika Mountain (swastika – a religious symbol of spiritual power).

The highlight of the expedition is a three-day detour to Mount Kailash (53 km) – the Sacred Way Called “Kora”!

Tibet Information:

Altitude:

Most of the route runs at an altitude of over 3,500 meters in Tibet. Even very healthy and physically prepared tourists experience mild manifestations of “mountain sickness,” so special attention should be paid to acclimatization. A slight headache and difficulty breathing are common at altitude. It is recommended to consume more fluid, up to 3/4 liter per day. During stops, take small walks around the neighborhood, do not make sudden movements, and you can add lemon and garlic to your daily diet. In Kathmandu, you can buy tablets from a height for Tibet – “DIAMOX” and take one tablet after the last dinner at night. With any more serious manifestations of mountain sickness (severe dizziness and nausea, loss of coordination, lethargy, shortness of breath, etc.), it is necessary to inform the guide, and evacuation to a lower altitude is required until complete acclimatization. There must be international insurance for outdoor activities (bring with you).

Accommodation:

In Manasarovar and along the route around Mount Kailash, accommodations will be in very basic guest houses. Guest houses have no heating, but enough blankets. Toilets are usually outside and not always clean. Showers are often absent from guest houses or available in local showers, and are not attached to the hotel.

Meals:

Breakfast is included every morning of your stay in Tibet. Lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price.

Requirements for participants

Staying at height is not desirable for people with hypertension, heart disease, and vascular diseases.

If there are serious health problems, it is necessary to consult a doctor in advance.
